Damnation is an accident of a damned soul, just like beatitude is an accident of the blessed soul in Heaven. Therefore, damnation cannot exist unless there is a damned soul.
Jesus, being God makes a lot of warnings, makes the most phrases on it, states that the easy way leads to doom and that the hardest to heal... and yet, ¿We can reasonably believe that most people goes to heaven? ¿that everyone is safe? For me it makes nonsense to think that with Jesus sacrifice everyone is saved... then we have no need to be "perfect as our father in heaven is perfect" or do we?
I love Father Barron, but am not sold on his position here. It simply is at odds with too much other teaching and the Bible.
This hope, which is not wrong, doesnt take into consideration those saints who have had visions of Hell and, well, the simple fact, it isn't empty.I think I understand what he is speaking of when he mentions the hope that no one, or not many are in hell.
