Why Did You Choose A&M?

Something to think about. Why did you choose to come to A&M?
In answering a similar question, the admissions office of Yale decided to think about recruiting a bit differently and did this video - basing it off of High School Musical. Great stuff!

My reason for choosing it was very specific. My high school counselor told me that on campus visits to do the "map test." That is to stand on a corner on campus with the map you get from the info center and wait to see how long it is before someone offers directions or asks if you need help. UT was my first visit and I stood on one corner for about 2 minutes and no one approached me so I went to another corner and waiting another minute or so before a girl came up and asked if I needed help. I told her which building I was looking for and she pointed and said it's over there before walking off. When I visited A&M I wasn't standing looking at my map for more than 5 seconds before someone came up and asked if I needed help. I told him what building I was looking for and he offered to escort me there. It was important for me to be in a place where people cared about each other and I wouldn't be invisible.

I found A&M to also be friendlier than any other campus I visited. Hooked me right away.

Something to be said for old fashioned hospitality.
