This sperm came from someone, not something; the embroy is a human child. The child who was killed didn't have a choice, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be a father if his sperm was used. If the sperm had been unwillingly harvested from a full grown man, who was subsequently killed, the child conceived with that sperm would still be, biologically, his child.
Children without sociological fathers are hardly new. What would be new would be ones without biological fathers, which has not yet happened. This is a big step in that direction, though. (I believe that they have already developed mice with female 'fathers'. )

It would seem to me that these sperm did come from a father, the little boy these cells were harvested from who never got a chance to grow into a man.
So, you are suggesting a dead boy who never chose this is a father? If so, it is the closest thing to a man becoming pregnant by rape I have heard of.

I think you are making a biological point, while mine is sociological.
