BTW - I am blessed to be able to attend the Theology of the Body Institute in March 2009 and further study the Theology of the Body with Christopher West.
St. Mary's Catholic Center is pleased to announce two internationally known speakers visiting us in the Spring of 2009.

Daniel Cardinal DiNardo

St. Mary's Institute of Catholic Studies is pleased to announce Daniel Cardinal DiNardo as the Spring 2009 presenter for our Distinguished Speakers Series.

The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is shepherded by Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, who ministers to the more than 1.3 million Catholics in the archdiocese. Cardinal DiNardo was formerly the Bishop of Sioux City and before that a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, worked at the Vatican, and as a parish priest.

As a member of the College of Cardinals, he serves as one of the Holy Father's principal colleagues and chief advisors. He will also be eligible to serve as an elector of a new pontiff in the next papal conclave.

Cardinal DiNardo
is Chairman-elect of the Pro-Life Committee of the Conference of Catholic Bishops. He is also a member of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant Peoples.

This will be Cardinal DiNardo’s second trip to St. Mary’s.

Christopher West

Christopher West is a research fellow and faculty member of the Theology of the Body Institute. He is also one of the most sought after speakers in the Church today, having delivered more than 1000 public lectures on 4 continents, in 9 countries, and in over 150 American cities. His books – Good News About Sex & Marriage, Theology of the Body Explained, and Theology of the Body for Beginners – have become Catholic best sellers.

Christopher has also lectured on a number of prestigious faculties, offering graduate and undergraduate courses at St John Vianney Seminary in Denver, the John Paul II Institute in Melbourne, Australia, and Creighton University’s Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha. Hundreds of thousands have heard him on national radio programs and even more have seen him defending the faith on programs such as Scarborough Country, Fox and Friends, and At Large with Geraldo Rivera. Of all his titles, Christopher is most proud to call himself a devoted husband and father. He and his wife Wendy have five children and live in Lancaster County, PA.
