Looks a little squashed to me. Doesn't quite do that picture justice. I am also not sure how I feel about the 50's drive in font. But I like the direction.
Title needs to be a bit larger and the image needs to be centered if it isn't large enough resolution to cover both columns. Other than that, I think this is a nice update.
Oh, and interesting maroon artifacts on the rounded corners of the image. Not sure if that was intended.

To be honest, I think it needs more maroon!
My random string of letters to confirm my post was "minging"...which is actually a word, whereas it normally produces gibberish.
