Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct. It drives me crazy to read forum posts and comments (just to name two places) and see all the problems therein.
For instance:
"I think your wrong." "I think Apple charges too much for there products and I think their going to have to change."
I could go on, but I won't. I often ask these people why they don't care to be correct, and I usually get a reply like:
"Why don't you mind you're business. I think your just being a(n) &*&^#*$."
Sometimes, people just say they don't want to take the time. WOW! It takes me NO extra time to be correct.
